First Snow of 2008

Oh man, I’m not ready! Not ready for snow in the least. But it happened today.

Ok, actually it may have happened yesterday, but I considered those ice pellets, and as such not really snow so much as miniature hail.

Today was full-blown flakes, so it’s really undeniable. First snow of 2008!

In other news, Andy and I did early voting last week, which you can do in WI quite easily. It sounds like the lines have been getting longer and longer, so I’m glad we went when we did: the wait was *maybe* 15-20 minutes, and we were also updating our registration records. So now we just wait for Election day and see how it goes. . . In related news it seems like everyone is going as Sarah Palin this year for Halloween. And here I thought I was being clever ;)

I’ve scheduled a thesis committee meeting, which has me in low level panic, but maybe lower-level than all the procrastination about scheduling one. I’m learning. Hopefully it will go OK and they won’t crush my soul. Then again, I usually do a much better job of that myself.

So yeah, I’m struggling with anxiety and perfectionism extra these days. I’m tired of it running my life and keeping me from just freaking enjoying it. Therefore I’m hoping to work on it—in a non-perfectionist way.

Back to work! The nice thing about the committee meeting is that I’ll get it done and almost immediately leave town to visit Andy’s family for Thanksgiving. So once again, no matter how it goes, I’ve got built-in time to recover. Of course, then it will suddenly be Christmas. . .
