Malaysia Journal: Saturday, April 14th 2001, 9:00AM Los Angeles

I’m not exactly sure if I should be writing an entry, for class, just yet. But there’s finally a genuine quiet moment since I woke up at home yesterday. Many adventures have already started . . . our luggage almost got sent all the way to KL when we’re stopping at LA. Robert Moeller was missing for awhile; Dena experienced her first flight.

My day with family was a harried adventure . . . all the same I missed them as soon as the plane began to taxi.

The group seems good . . . although of course there seem to be some people thinking a lot and some thinking less. Well, time will tell.

---
As the plane began to land, one by one the passengers turned off their reading lights, until the plane was dark. Within the dimmed cabin, everyone was quiet. It was a city light vigil, our small prayers guided by the ocean of L.A. streetlamps rising up to meet us.
