Quests of an un-serious nature

Maybe it’s the gamer in me (there is a bit of it left), but I love a good quest. Usually they are of the shopping or crafting kind: I am proud to say I completed my summer-shoe quest to acquire “cute but dressier-than-flip-flop sandals, in both gold and silver.” But I digress.

As a PhD student, there is the nearly-never-ending quest to do enough research to write a thesis and defend it.

But I have more short-term quests. . . SUMMER QUESTS!

To level up my dance skill and increase dexterity, I charge myself with a shimmy quest. I must work on my shimmies as regularly as possible and gain control of this powerful move, thus defeating the tension in my legs that is currently keeping me from performing it.

To level up my craftmancer skill, I must also craft some sort of storage for all the jewelry I’ve acquired from visits to Hawaii and home. I’m thinking cool wall frames like THIS. Also, I should finish covering my dance top and attempt to embellish it. If I can complete this project, then I can craft a matching dance belt and have an actual costume of my own creation. Woot!

To regain hit points, I will need to visit ye olde optometrist and dentist . . . yuck.

I don’t really know why I’m listing this stuff, but it’s awfully fun to act like I’m on a quest instead of just running errands. . .
